What is included in the cost of the session?

We provide all the arty stuff – which is usually a 40 x 50cm canvas (yours to take home), paint, brushes, palette, easel, and apron. We offer several different art, painting and crafting workshop; but regardless, we will provide all the materials and step-by-step instructions unless stated otherwise. Our artists guide you through your session’s painting, step by step. We have glassware for your BYO drinks, a fridge with cold tap water, and a self serve tea bar if you should be keen for a cuppa. BYO nibbles if you please.

How long are the sessions?

Each session usually runs between two and a half to three hours. The class times are listed with the session or event and in your confirmation email. We recommend that you arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle in, pour a glass, and pump your paint. We usually begin painting about 15 minutes after the session start time. There may be a few ‘drying breaks’ during the session where you can get up for a stretch, a dance, or to admire your fellow artists’ paintings.

If you’re running late, please give us a ring and we’ll do everything we can to catch you up once you arrive.

What should I wear?

Wear something that you feel expressive and comfortable in. We provide aprons to help protect your clothes, but best to wear something you don’t mind getting a bit of paint on just in case. Bonus points if you dress to the theme of the painting!

Can I purchase drinks?

No, we are a BYO venue, so remember to bring your favourite beverage and nibbles.

I don’t drink wine. Can I bring other types of drinks?

Of course. You are welcome to bring beer, cider, kombucha, soft drink, tea, coffee, or any other beverage that tickles your fancy.

Can I bring nibbles or food?

Yes, painting and sipping can sometimes make one noshy. If you’re bringing nibbles, please bring along anything you need to enjoy them – plates, cutlery and napkins. For optimal nibbling, keep in mind that we have limited space at your tables between paint stations.

Are children allowed?

Let’s get creative with those young-uns! Children are welcome to our public session as long as the are accompanied by an adult. Please bring them along and show them the wonder of painting and arts! Children aged 10 and older tend to follow along in our paint and sip sessions with relative ease.

For younger children, we also offer a ‘child paint-along’. No need to book for your young children, simply purchase your seats and advise how many little ones you’ll be bringing in the notes. ‘Child paint-along’ seats are purchase in studio for $29 each and we’ll provide your wee one with all the arty materials that you have. They can try to paint along or paint their own ideas and creations.

For younger children, we sometimes run Family Paint & Sip sessions designed specifically for parents and their children age 4 – 10.

Can my friends and I sit together?

Most definitely! If you book multiple seats, we will seat you together. If you book separately, let us know in the ‘Notes’ section when booking and we will ensure you are seated with your group.

Do I have to paint the same thing as the artist?

Not at all. While our artist will lead steps for only one painting per session, we love to see where your imagination takes you. Change up the colours or shapes, paint your own design, paint someone’s portrait or have a go at one of the paintings on our wall. It’s your canvas, so paint whatever feels good for you.

Can I leave my painting behind and pick it up later?

If you are unable to take your painting with you after the session, you may leave it in our studio and collect it within seven days—simply drop in during one of our sessions and ask the artist or host to grab it for you. Due to spatial limitations, unclaimed paintings left for longer than one week will be recycled. Please be sure to return for your painting to avoid disappointment!

What if I need to cancel my booking?

In-studio Booking Policy

We understand things happen and you can’t always plan in advance. That’s why we offer to re-book your session if you tell us ahead of time. Follow the link in your Booking Confirmation email should you need to re-book.

There is no fee to re-book when doing so at least 48 hours prior to the session start time. Re-booking requests made after this time attract a $20 fee, per seat. Re-bookings are processed as store credit: you’re able to book a new session straight away or plan again another time.

Can I book a private function?

Yes! We would love to help you celebrate your next special event. Please check out our Private Events page or contact us so we can help you plan it.
