Before colonisation, the world-famous beach was the land of its traditional owners, the Cadigal and Biddigal people. There is evidence of Aboriginal rock carvings from 3000-4000 BC of fishes on the cliffs, and it’s believed that the beach was used as a large-scale flint tool-making place, using chipped and mined volcanic rock from the area.
A bird’s eye view in the present day sees the little golden crescent of Bondi Beach as a colourful and crowded place to soak up some sun.
