It’s all systems go this February at Cork & Chroma, with juicy new paintings, a lineup of special events, Valentine’s Day sessions, vision boarding workshops, and so much more. Here’s a taste of what’s to come!
Valentine’s Day
Expect to see some lover-ly paintings on our Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne calendars around Valentine’s Day this year! Honestly, is there a better idea for date night than a paint and sip session with the special someone in your life? Whether you’ve been dating for five minutes or five years, our special blend of painting (guided by an experienced Cork & Chroma artist), sipping (BYO favourite bevy) and fabulous music and atmosphere, is sure to make for a wonderful and memorable date night. You can collaborate on your paintings, create your own couple’s competition, exchange your paintings at the end, or hang them side by side… no matter your approach, you’ve got a take-home memory to remind you of all the fun you shared.
New Squeeze — Limoncello!
Introducing our newest kid on the block: Limoncello! This juicy number screams all things summer, and would look fabulous and fresh on any wall. The repeating pattern and bright bursts of yellow look great against any colour background, so if pink isn’t your jam, customise your background to suit your own style and décor. A light, bright blue? An earthy terracotta? When life gives you lemons, complement them with your favourite background colour, or follow along with the original. Limoncello will be debuting in Brisbane this February, and it won’t be long until it squeezes its way onto our Sydney and Melbourne calendars, too. Keep your eyes peeled (excuse the pun) for this fruity, fresh addition.
What’s On in Sydney
It’s all happening this February in our Surry Hills Studio in Sydney! On February 2nd we’ll be ditching the canvas in favour of funky vintage records that you can hang on your wall. A paint and sip first, these groovy sessions combine a fresh medium and groovy tunes to inspire you in brand new ways. We’ll be painting our Desert Beats painting; paint along with the original colour palette and composition, or put your own spin on it! Just like our regular painting sessions, these sessions run for three hours and are BYO drinks.
On the 18th of February, we’ll be collaborating with Somatic Sexologist Alice Child in our Surry Hills studio to bring you our ‘Bits and Pieces: Uncorked’ session. These workshops blend sex education, painting and body positivity to create a one-of-a-kind experience that celebrates all bodies and genitalia in their glorious diversity. You will learn all about the pleasure anatomy of the genitals, and once warmed up you will create your own personal, reflective artwork with tips and tricks from your Cork & Chroma artist. Let’s just say, we never got this kind of sex ed at school.
What’s On in Melbourne
Meanwhile in Melbourne, on the 26th February, we’ll be collaborating with Elmswood Estate in the beautiful Yarra Valley to bring you a fun afternoon of wine and art. Kick back and enjoy the sprawling vineyard views as you paint our bright and breezy ‘Love Island’ painting, sip on seasonal wines, snack on a selection of cheeses, and tap into your inner artist. With this picture-perfect backdrop and a delicious wine on the side, you’re sure to find yourself feeling creatively inspired.
What’s On in Brisbane
All a-“board” the manifestation train, we are tapping into our creativity with a fun and interactive vision board workshop on the 11th February led by Cork & Chroma’s founder Hillary Wall. During this session, you will craft your own personal vision board and learn to use the creative process to clarify your goals and dreams. With Hillary’s expert guidance and your own intuition, you will leave this session with a beautiful, inspiring tool to help you focus on what you want to manifest in your life. Plus, you will gain the practical skill set to be able to create a vision board for yourself again and again! Spots are limited: book yours here.
Also on the 11th of February in Brisbane, we’ll be collaborating with Distillery Road Market for a special Valentine’s Day paint and sip event. Enjoy your drink of choice on arrival, then settle in to paint Picasso portraits whilst grooving along to the stellar lineup of live music. Coax out your inner Picasso, enjoy the delicious local food and drinks, and celebrate love of every kind! Bring your lover, your bestie, or simply come along as you are and make some new friends.
We’ve got more family-friendly painting sessions coming your way this February in Brisbane, with an All Ages session on the 2nd February, where we’ll be painting our pets, Picasso-style. This session is a favourite between guests and artists alike; it’s so much fun to capture the spirit of a pet with colour, expression, and shape, all whilst leaning in to Picasso’s signature style! If you don’t have a pet, never fear, you can simply paint your favourite animal. Our All Ages sessions are suitable for painters over 10 years old, since we paint on full-size canvases and the sessions run for three hours. We have a no-alcohol policy for these sessions, but feel free to bring some snacks or a smoothie to enjoy whilst getting your paint on! We also have a complimentary tea station, serving a selection of delicious T2 teas.
Last but not least, we’re painting Warhol Cupcakes for our Family Paint session on the 19th February in Brisbane. These sessions are suited to mini painters, since we paint on mini 25 x 30cm canvases. Please note that children will need an adult to paint with them, and all painters need to book their own seat. Our family sessions are a wonderful way for kids to learn how to express themselves creatively, and best of all, they get to take their finished canvas home and hang it proudly on the wall!
We can’t wait to paint with you all across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne! See you at one of our special events or in studio for another wonderful month of creative connection.
